IELTS – International English Language Testing System

IELTS is the English Language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe. Conducting 1.4 million test globally, IELTS is the world’s most popular English Testing System. Its is recognized by more than 6000 institutions in over 135 Countries.

IELTS Registration Requirements:

  1. Visit for more information. The British council office in Rwanda will provide you with an IELTS Application form to complete for Registration.
  2. Please call +250 252 570 589/ +250 786 581 782 to check availability on the test date you require before moving on to Step 3
  3. Please pay an exam fee of RWF 130,000 into their BCR account:

NB/ Please DO NOT deposit money into this account until you know there is a space available on your preferred test date.

     4. Please complete the form you downloaded in Step 1, and attach:

2 Passport photos

A copy of your National Id/Passport

A bank slip/bordereau showing the deposit you have made into the bank account

     5. Please submit your application form and other documents to the British Council Office between the hours of 08:00 to 17.00 or call to make an appointment with the customer service officer on +250 252 570 589/ +250 786 581 782. The British Council office is based at RIAM in Muhima.

    6. An IELTS sample pack, with CD and sample papers, is available at the British Council Office to help you with the revision for the IELTS test. The sample pack costs RWF 26,000. It is NOT obligatory to buy the sample pack, but if you want to buy it please pay RWF 26,000 in the bank account as detailed in Step 3.
